Kedarkantha peak, situated in the mountains of the tons river valley is a beautiful ridge peak; easily accessible anytime of the year. In the winters it snows in this valley and hence views from the summit are very rewarding. The trek goes through the Govind National Park and gives you ample time to soak in the flora and fauna of this protected area. Reaching the top is very satisfying as you are rewarded with views of peaks like the Swargarohini, Banderpooch, Black and Ranglana."

ITINERARY

Touchbase : Gangotri

Approach :

By Air – Nearest airport – Dehradun

By Road – Delhi > Haridwar > Gangotri

Reach Touchbase one day prior to the day your trek starts.

Stay is prearranged. *

Spend the day acclimatizing, Exploring or just relax. We’ll have an orientation meeting in the evening. Where you will meet with our Guide, Group leader and other members of group.

Drive next morning to the trailhead, Barsu Village. Transportation is prearranged. *

Day 01

Deoria Taal (2438m)

First day of the trek involves a short hike of 2.3kms to Deoriatal. As we start our gentle ascend our first stop was Nagraja Ratneshwar Temple. Trek to Deoriatal through dense forest of Rhodendron and lots of wild flowers and ferns. The trek will take 3- 4 hrs to reach Deoriatal.

Day 02

Rohini Bugyal (2651m)

After breakfast leave for Rohini Bugyal. 3-4 Hrs trek along the mountain ridge takes you to the Lush Green Meadows of Rohini Bugyal.

Day 03

Burjgali (2978m)

Rohini Bugyal to Brujgali trail is the most beautiful stretch of the entire trek. Misty forests, meadow slopes, waterfalls panoramic views of the mountains and a trial full of fallen maple leaves takes you to this beautiful campsite of Burjgali.

Day 04

Tungnath (3418m), Chandrashila Peak (4090m) - Chopta

It's a long day today. It's a climb of over 2 hours but the views are very rewarding. After spendinA 3.5 km trek from Burjgali. A beautiful walk with magnificent views. We reach Tungnath and camp in the wilderness. 1 km away from the camps is Chandrashila peak. This is the highest point of this trek you can see the majestic Himalayan range. We descend down to Chopta. Over night in tents. The trek ends here.

Sankri (1966m)

After breakfast you leave for your journey forward.
