One of the most revered peaks in Himachal. Abounding in mythology of Shiva-Parvati and the Pandavas. Situated on the border of Shimla and Kullu. Alternate routes exist but best to start from Sairopa and exit from Baghipul. Base camp is Sairopa on the banks of the Tirthan in the Banjar valley. This is place from where you can see Kinnaur Himalaya from one side, Kullu and Shimla mountains from other sides.

ITINERARY

Approach :

By Air – Nearest airport – Bhuntar

By Road – Delhi > Mandi > Aut > Sai Ropa


Reach Touchbase one day prior to the day your trek starts.

Stay is prearranged. *


Spend the day acclimatizing, Exploring or just relax. We’ll have an orientation meeting in the evening. Where you will meet with our Guide, Group leader and other members of group.


Drive next morning to the trailhead, Barsu Village. Transportation is prearranged. *


Day 01

Majholi (2743m)

From Bathad we start trekking to Majholi. A 3-4 hours leisurely walk will take you to Majholi campsite. Enjoy the evening.


Day 02

Palach (3000m)

Majholi to Palach, again a gentle trail. Total trek of 6-7 hours amid mountain sceneries takes you to Palach


Day 03

Kunsha Thach (3884m)

This day’s trail is also gradual. Again 6-7 hours trek and camp at Kunsha Thach. Kunsa Thach is a place surrounded by big waterfalls. It is a place of breathtaking scenery. Nature is splendid here. One can spend hours here just by admiring nature with waterfalls, clouds, flowers. This is the best place to take some rest and rejuvenate with nature. These three days walk will help you to acclimatize for high altitude trails in coming days.


Day 04

Parvati Bagh (4151m)

Climb down to the valley of yellow marigolds. Cross the snow bridge to the left bank of the RupinTodays trek is demanding. We ascend towards Bhimdwar through steep ridges. Climb over a carpet of alpine flowers and grasses to the 3950 meter high Pattu Burji. Desent over nallahs and ice-bridges to Bheemdwar. Parvati Baag is just 3 Kms from Bheemdwar. It takes 2 hrs to reach Parvati Baag. Parvati Baag is a beautiful place for night halt. According to legends it is said that Mata Parvati used this place for their stay. So it is called Parvati Baag. This place is full of rare flowers of higher himalayas and famous for rarest Brahma Kamal. One can easily find this rarest flower here at Parvati Baag. This place is just below the Holy Shrikhand Mountain. At night it feels like you can touch the sky with your hand.


Day 05

Nain Sar (4010m)

Climb over sheer moraine and huge bolders. There are compensations, however, on the way: majestic but rare Brahmkamal flower can be sighted in dozens, the poignant Nain Sarovar, a glacier lake supposedly born of a teardrop from the eyes of Goddess Paravati.


Day 06

ShriKhand Mahadev (4010m) - Parvati Bagh

Climb to Srikhand Mahadev a strenuous day. We pass Bhim ki Bahi, huge stone tablets with hieroglyphic marking on them they are supposed to be the tablets on which Bhim kept account of the Pandava’s travel. And finally the enormous Srikhand Peak itself- a black, cracked rock monolith 20 meters high- the Shivling, surrounded by a permanent snowfield. It is an unforgetable sight. Return to Parvati Bagh.


Day 07

Kali Ghati (3900m)

An easy descend with little ups and downs. Kali Ghati is the top of Danda Dhaar. From Kali Ghati you can get 360 degree view of the Himalayas. There are no tree upto Thacharu.



Day 08

Jaun (2882m)

Descend along river Shrikhand via Barahati and Singh Ghat to Jaun village. Jaun village which lies in Kullu district, is a small village on the right bank of rivulet Kurpan which originates just from the bottom of Shrikhand Mountain Range. This is a fast flowing rivulet with white water. walk to the roadhead at Baghipul. Halt at historic Nirmand Village on the way to Shimla.
